Parent's Council

Not all parents in the Academy think the same about every issue, the success of the Parents’ Council will depends on us working together in a spirit of goodwill and on parents taking advantage of this opportunity to get more involved in our Academy.

Being a member of the Parents' Council gives you good opportunities to:

Focus on issues that really matter to parents
Contribute to discussions about new developments that are being considered at the Academy
Influence decisions about the future of the Academy
Hear at first hand responses to issues that parents have raised
Understand better how the Academy works

The Parents’ Council is shaped and appointed by you, the parents of our students.

The set up reflects the fact that your spare time is precious and meeting times will be arranged accordingly.

Friends of The Business Academy

Perhaps attending meetings and discussing key issues is not for you. Maybe you want to play a more active role to become more involved at the Academy. If you do then the Friends section of the Parents’ Council is for you:

Being a Friend of the Academy gives you the opportunity to:

Consider ways to actively support pupils and staff at the Academy
Help with the organisation of events
Raise funds that are earmarked for particular projects
Decide exactly how the funds that you raise are spent

The Friends section is a sub-group of the Parents' Council and you will decide exactly what it does and how it operates.
