Miss Kate Tod wins
Teach First Excellence Award 2006 |
On 16 June 2006, at the Hurlingham Club in Chelsea, an awards evening was attended by 350 Teach First sponsors. During this evening, Miss Tod was presented with the Teach First Excellence Award 2006 for her excellent teaching achievements and was accompanied by Mr Spalding, Ms Lewis, a proud Mr Tod, Mrs Weaver and Amy Weaver.
Alistair Campbell made a speech and quoted Amy Weaver who said, “I am very proud of Miss and I will make her proud with my GCSE results”.
The triumphant Miss Todd beat a cohort of around 200 other Teach First to win this award which is such a wonderful achievement. The Academy is proud and fortunate to have such a dedicated and hard working member of staff on our team.
Congratulations Miss Tod! |

| Upper School Music Concert |
On 24 May 2006, the Music department hosted an Upper School Recital where year 10 students (Ashley Francois, Ermine Suleyman, Julia Hien, Alejandro Oliveras, Rhiannon Whitby, Emily Martin and Daniel Turner) and 11 students (Derry Shellam and Kylie Hua) played GCSE performance pieces and compositions.
The evening was a huge success and everybody enjoyed the different styles of music. It was pleasing to see so many parents and friends of the students attend and support this event.
