Attendance Award

teddy bearEvery week we award the classtrophy with the best attendance with the Attendance Ted for KS1 or the Attendance Cup for KS2. The children get to look after them for the whole week! The �Best Class Attendance� award for LAST WEEK Monday 2 - Friday 6 October goes to:

11+ Exams for Year 6
The deadline for informing the school if you wish your child to sit these exams is Friday 6 October 2006. Please write a letter for the attention of Mrs Dell.
School Journey
Letters will be coming home next week with details of the Year 6 School Journey. We hope to take all of Year 6 to Wrotham in Kent for a 5 day residential trip, Monday 29 January – Friday 2 February 2007. We also plan to fundraise to help with the cost.
Dogs
A reminder that dogs are not allowed on the school premises at all, especially not in the playgrounds. There are children who are frightened of dogs and there is also the issue of dog fowling which is a health and safety matter. Please respect our school and our children.
Jeans for Genes Day
We shall be participating in the Jeans for Genes charity fundraiser on Friday 6 October 2006. All children and staff can wear their jeans to school for a donation of �1. Please encourage your child to take part and support this worthy cause. Don’t forget competition entries to “Design a Pair of Jeans” must be handed in by Wednesday 4 October 2006.
Labelling Clothing

Please be reminded that all school uniform and PE kits must be labelled clearly with your child’s name. Also the Reception classes would like to request donations of any spare underwear, socks and trousers for use in the event of accidents! Thank you.

Wrotham School Journey

We have had a wonderful response to this school journey with more than half of the year group paying their deposits. After half term parents will be receiving payment plan details to assist with budgeting for this trip. Please remember financial assistance may be sought from the Eardly Martin charity c/o Bexley Council tel: 020 8303 7777 x4274. Miss Polson has a few application forms and is happy to help parents complete them. We also intend to run fundraising events to help subsidise the trip.
Class Assembly
Flat Stanley Class are holding their assembly on Thursday 5 October 2006 at 10.15am. Parents, carers and relatives of children in this class are invited to come along to support the children.
Reception Class Lining Up
From Monday 2 October 2006 all Reception Class children will be expected to line up on the infant playground in the mornings. Teachers will then lead them into class at 8.50am.
Walking home permission
If you wish for your child to walk home alone from school you must write a permission letter to your child’s teacher.
Jeans for Genes Day
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Jeans for Genes fundraising. We raised �289.13. Well done!
